Organizational Objectives

Building a Stronger Deaf Community Across Idaho

The Idaho Association of the Deaf (IAD) is dedicated to strengthening and empowering Idaho's Deaf and hard-of-hearing community through advocacy, connection, and collaboration.

Unite Our Community

Bring together Deaf and hard-of-hearing Idahoans, along with allies who share a commitment to our community, in a welcoming and inclusive organization that fosters connection, leadership, and mutual support.

Advocate for Equal Rights

Promote and protect the educational, employment, economic, social, civic, and human rights of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals throughout Idaho. We work to advance accessibility, equal opportunity, and full participation in every aspect of community life.

Strengthen Our National Voice

Maintain affiliation with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and actively support its mission, objectives, and bylaws. Together, we amplify the voices of Deaf Americans and advocate for positive change at both the state and national levels.

Our Commitment

We believe every Deaf and hard-of-hearing person deserves equal access, respect, opportunity, and the ability to thrive. Through advocacy, education, leadership, and community engagement, the Idaho Association of the Deaf works to build a more inclusive Idaho for current and future generations.
